This Month's Top PickSouth Luangwa National Park is the jewel in the crown of Zambia’s wealth of national parks. The park itself is a mix of habitats from alluvial plains through to mature mopane woodland. It has become famed as one of the best places in Africa to photograph leopards and other notable species such as southern carmine bee-eater, Pel’s fishing owl, lion, the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe and African wild dog. There are a range of lodges to suit all budgets and tastes with majority focused around the Mfuwe sector.
