Where to go Wild Editorial Guidelines for Articles
Where to go Wild (WtgW) takes an education and informative view of wildlife travel, particularly for the unique and seldom-seen experiences. We provide clients with the highest quality information to enable them to craft their own trip and create their perfect adventure across the globe. Topics covered on the website include wildlife event highlights (i.e. mass migration, mating seasons), the importance of emerging destinations, why classic destinations are so loved, the ethics of different forms of tourism, and the innovations being driven by different parts of the industry to enhance, promote, and encourage eco-tourism.
Length: Each article should be 1,500-2,000 words in length (inclusive of and tables and credits), and are accompanied by visual materials (photographs, diagrams, graphs, and so on) if the author provides any. While we reserve the right to edit any article, every effort will be made to ensure that the sense and overall character of the article remain intact.
Content: Where to go Wild is an objective and informative website that is designed to encourage people to travel and embrace the natural world. We are looking for an objective discussion on an agreed focus topic as opposed to information regarding a company's activities, products, or services. Please note that due to various constraints, articles commissioned in quick succession from the same author(s) may be postponed and published a little later in the year. The article should be written in a clear, narrative style and aimed at a readership that is informative, encouraging, and passionate. Text should be broken up with cross-headings where appropriate. Articles can be written in first or second person if it will help promote a certain experience or event (such as a first-hand account of a walking safari experience).
So that we have an idea of the direction you intend to take, we ask for a short synopsis (100-200 words) of your proposed subject in advance of the full article submission. This helps to avoid disappointment should the same topic be tackled by more than one contributor and will help us guide the core of the article to stay within the ideal focus of WtgW. Without a synopsis, we are unable to guarantee the uniqueness and prominence of your article as it could be the case someone else has written on a very similar topic recently.

What Happens Next:
Before publishing your article, we email each author a proof in order to get final comments and written approval in case we have made amendments to fit our house style or improve readability. This takes place in the week before the article is published, and it is important that you or a colleague is available during this time to approve the article. In the interests of accuracy, we never run an article without final written approval. This does mean that if we do not receive written confirmation we will not publish the article on WtgW.
All article submissions should be sent to submissions@wheretogowild.com
